The Vision, Mission and Core Values of the Ministry
Calvary Chapel of Grace and Truth
Our Vision: KNOW > GROW > GO
For All who come through these doors to Know Christ
For All who attend to Grow in Christ
For All who leave these doors to Go forward with Christ, in Life and in Ministry!
Our Mission is the Great Commission:
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” ~ Matthew 28:18-20

Ministry Expectations of all those who serve at CCOGT
Here at CCOGT we do not strive for perfection, we strive for excellence because Jesus deserves our very best and so do His people whom we have been given the privilege to serve!
To help us create and maintain a culture of love, unity, peace and joy which brings Glory to Jesus in our ministry, we expect the following from all those who serve in the ministry:
• Faithful: Responsible, Reliable, Loyal and Trustworthy. You show up on time= (early) and you’re prepared and eager to serve! You are Prayed Up and Filled Up ready to be Poured Out! No shows, laziness, and poor attitudes are unacceptable!
• Available: You are ready willing and able to step in where there is a need, you are a team player and will serve where and when needed if at all possible! It’s not great ability, but availability that God uses and blesses! Attending the various services and functions as much as possible, ready and willing to serve even if you are “off”, we must lead by example.
• Teachable: You are willing to learn from your Pastor, His wife and ministry leaders in addition to learning from one another. God blesses Humility, He will quickly oppose those who are proud and unwilling to learn and be submissive to Christ and His Word, and the leadership of the Church.
• Presentable: You are well groomed and dressed *accordingly, appropriately (and modestly ladies!) You do not have to wear a suit or a dress, but neither should you look like you just got out of bed or are heading to the ball game, you’re going to Church. You are representing Jesus and our ministry!
* Christmas, Good Friday and Easter Services require more formal dress of Ushers and Greeters.
• Communication: We cannot stress more highly the importance of clear, honest communication! First with your ministry leaders and amongst your fellow servants! You need to contact your ministry leaders in advance when you cannot serve or if you are running late or cannot come to service when scheduled due to an emergency. Communicate via Text, Phone call or Email. If there is a pressing need in the Body of which you notice, or a serious concern or situation of which you have been made aware, you must share with your ministry leader immediately! They will notify the leaders and pastor as needed. If you are struggling reach out for prayer and help.
• Spirit filled, Spirit led ministry: Your ministry to the Body is an overflow of your personal spiritual life with the spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit has given you. Your ministry unto the Lord and with the Lord is first and foremost before you can minister for the Lord. Your personal time of Prayer, Bible Reading and Bible Study is vital to your spiritual growth and service in the ministry to God’s flock! Our service should be marked by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25) Do not seek to give counsel or advice that is either unbiblical or of which you are not certain. If someone has a need that you are not equipped to meet then get a ministry leader to assist.
• Unity: You are in agreement with the Doctrine and Theology taught here at CCOGT and are in full support of the Pastor and his Wife and their leadership and Vision for this ministry of which you are called to come along side to assist and to hold up their hands in prayer and support to help the vision come to pass!
**Failure to meet these requirements will be met with 2 verbal warnings, a 3rd and final warning with a meeting, the last step is removal from the ministry. You have been Called to Serve Jesus and others, you are NOT a Volunteer!
The Difference Between Volunteering and Being Called into God’s Service in Ministry.
1 Chron. 15:16-19 ; Col. 4:17 ; 1 Timothy 1:12 ; Mark 10:41-45
“When God has put His call on you, woe be to you if you turn to the right hand or to the left. He will do with you what He never did with you before the call came; He will do with you what He is not doing with other people. Let Him have His way.” ~ Oswald Chambers
“Your Calling is the place where your deepest joy and the World’s greatest needs cross.” ~ Fredrick Buechner
1) A Volunteer looks upon ministry as another commitment they have been obligated to fulfill, but someone Called of God looks upon ministry as another opportunity to be used by God.
2) A Volunteer looks upon any constructive criticism with indignation, but someone Called of God is grateful for feedback because they want to be the best they can be.
3) A Volunteer puts in minimum effort (after all I’m not getting paid ), but someone Called of God puts in maximum effort, because they do it for God’s glory and they take responsibility for their ministry.
4) A Volunteer sits back and complains about this and that bothering them, but someone Called of God leads a personal campaign to improve that which needs improvement.
5) A Volunteer feels threatened by the talent of others, but someone Called of God is secure in God’s direction of their life.
6) A Volunteer does no additional study or preparation (after all, they’re only a volunteer), but someone Called of God seeks to be well equipped for their ministry.
7) A Volunteer wants to quit at the first sign of adversity or discouragement, but someone Called of God will trust the Lord and persevere.
8) A Volunteer is oblivious to the needs of their ministry, but someone Called of God is praying over the needs of their ministry and is proactive in meeting those needs.
9) A Volunteer is more prone to jealousy than others, but someone Called of God praises and thanks God for distributing gifts and talents as He chooses and delights in seeing God use others.
10) A Volunteer shrinks back from resolving relational conflicts, but someone Called of God seeks to resolve conflicts swiftly, biblically and lovingly to preserve the unity of the team and the ministry as a whole.
11) A Volunteer’s main source of fulfillment is their talent and abilities, but someone Called of God knows that being used by God is the most fulfilling thing there is in life and that God doesn’t need any of us, it is a privilege to serve Him.
12) A Volunteer can’t handle being put into situations where they are going to be stretched, but someone Called of God responds with humble dependence upon Him and makes themselves available to be used by God.
